23/10/2024

To comply with the Identity Law 26/2023/QH15, Circular 17/2024/TT-NHNN on opening and using payment accounts, and Circular 18/2024/TT-NHNN on card services, Sacombank is implementing updates to customer identification and biometric data. This ensures accurate verification of ID and biometric information, facilitating safe and precise transactions.

Sacombank is ready to support customers in updating ID documents and biometric data to prevent transaction disruptions after 31/12/2024.

From 01/01/2025, Sacombank will temporarily suspend transactions at branches, ATMs/CDMs/STMs, and online channels for customers with expired or invalid identification.

Additionally, all online transactions, ATM/CDM/STM withdrawals, and card activation/renewal for both personal and business cardholders will be temporarily halted if biometric registration has not been completed.

Instructions for Updating Identification and Biometric Data:

  • Step 1: Individual customers and legal representatives of Businesses/Organizations (Account Holders/Authorized Card Users) should visit any Sacombank branch nationwide to update valid identification documents.
    • Group 1: Vietnamese customers using a National ID (CMND), Barcode Citizen ID (CCCD), or Passport must update to a Chip-based Citizen ID or new ID card by 01/01/2025.
    • Group 2: Vietnamese customers with an expiring Chip-based Citizen ID are advised to renew their ID and update this information at Sacombank by 01/01/2025.

After successfully implementing Decision 2345/QĐ-NHNN, Sacombank continues to deploy comprehensive solutions to fulfill Circulars 17 and 18. These efforts aim to ensure that account and cardholder information is authentic, enhancing safety and security in online and card-based transactions while protecting customers.
