The Queen of the Netherlands working with Sacombank about the Horti-Project in Lam Dong

Rabobank is one of the world's leading banks for agricultural funding. Investment lending for horti project under Netherlands standards is the collaborative pilot project between Sacombank and Rabobank Foundation for customers who develop agriculture in Lam Dong. The project has been piloted since March 2015 with the total capital of nearly 3 billion VND, term of 5 years, 1 year grace period, 10% interest rate per year. Beside the concessional credit, selected costumers to join the project, also get free technical support from Fresh Studio, a prestigious agricultural consulting organization from the Netherlands. Thanks to application of modern greenhouse cultivation, productivity and quality of agricultural product has increased dramatically compared with traditional greenhouses, farmers ' income have been also improved significantly.

At the meeting, Lam Van Kiet – Regional Director of Sacombank's South Central and Central Highlands, stated out: "With positive signals from the pilot project for Lam Dong's costumers, Sacombank is under the negotiation process with Rabobank Foundation and Fresh Studio to expand horti project nationally.

Sacombank advocates priority funding for high-tech agriculture and is constantly seeking solutions to enable more Vietnamese farmers to access bank funding. These projects cooperate with Rabobank as part of the modern financial solutions that Sacombank is developing and implementing such as high-tech agriculture, modern agricultural cooperatives and closed supply chain from input to production - procurement - processing - distribution.

In June 2014, Sacombank signed Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the field of food and agribusiness with Rabobank. Sacombank is also cooperating with Rabobank to implement the Credit of nearly 6 billion VND to Lam Vien Coffee Cooperative in Lam Dong - a new cooperative model which was developed and operated by consultant Rabobank Development, a partial guarantee of a Rabobank Foundation.
