ESG Strategy helps Sacombank achieve Green Business Award for two consecutive years

.The award, organized by the HCMC Business Association (HUBA) in collaboration with the Saigon Liberation Newspaper and under the direction of the HCMC People's Committee, aims to honor businesses that have innovative solutions contributing to economic development while focusing on environmental protection and sustainable development following the ESG model.

A representative from Sacombank stated that, in addition to the short-term goal of completing the restructuring plan by 2025 and returning to the market's leading group, the bank also has a long-term goal of sustainable development according to the ESG model, in line with the government's aim of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050.

The bank has outlined a strategy with 4 key focuses for its sustainable development model. These include: Sustainable growth: Bringing long-term benefits to shareholders, customers, the community, and the nation; Customer-centric: Products and services are always centered around the primary benefit of the customers; Human resources as the driving force for development: 99% of management personnel are promoted from internal resources; Transparent governance: A clear organizational structure, with risk management prioritized and aligned with the latest international standards.

Sacombank has received the HCMC Green Business Award for two consecutive years

For over 32 years, Sacombank has consistently placed its social activities on par with its business plans, with expectations for a comprehensive contribution not only to the prosperity of the economy but also to the sustainability of society.

Accordingly, Sacombank has been focusing its credit resources on sustainable production and business activities, as well as green sectors such as green agriculture, sustainable forestry, green industry, renewable energy, clean energy, etc. Several preferential loan programs have been implemented to support individuals and businesses engaged in production and business activities that do not negatively impact or even help protect resources, the environment, and society.

At the same time, carrying out its mission of "Accompanying Development," from its early days, Sacombank has launched and successfully maintained many annual community-oriented programs. These include the "Sacombank - Sharing from the Heart" blood donation program, the "Sacombank - Nurturing Dreams" scholarship program, the "Warm Spring" program, and the "Run with Sacombank for Community Health" marathon.
