Sacombank launches bus ticket payment via Napas card

18/09/2024

Starting in September 2024, customers can use NAPAS domestic chip cards issued by Sacombank (Sacombank NAPAS cards) for cashless payments on select bus routes in Hanoi, HCMC,… This service is also expected to expand to other public transportation systems.

Passengers on VinBus electric buses and several other bus routes in HCMC can now pay for tickets contactless using Sacombank NAPAS credit or debit cards.

Simply tapping the card on the POS/mPOS device installed on the buses allows passengers to quickly and conveniently obtain their tickets—an ideal solution for public transportation services. For VinBus electric buses specifically, in addition to contactless card payments, passengers can purchase single-ride tickets by scanning a QR code on the POS device provided by the VinBus attendant. Customers can make QR payments through Sacombank Pay or other banking apps and e-wallets for a seamless bus ticketing experience.

In the following stages, Sacombank will continue to work with NAPAS to expand cashless payments to other forms of public transport, such as metro and additional bus services. This initiative aims to encourage public transportation use, promote eco-friendly, sustainable travel, and support the government's push towards cashless payments for daily necessities.

“With a well-prepared technical infrastructure, Sacombank is ready to collaborate with NAPAS to meet the growing demand for cashless payments in various sectors, including public transportation,” a Sacombank representative said.
