Sacombank joins Thai Nguyen Province in flood recovery efforts

Specifically, Sacombank donated VND 1 billion to the Thai Nguyen Province Fatherland Front Committee’s Relief Fund to support post-disaster recovery efforts. In addition, the Bank provided VND 300 million worth of essential supplies to severely affected households in communes and wards including Linh Son, Phan Dinh Phung, Tich Luong, Gia Sang, Trung Thanh, Thanh Cong, Dong Hy, Nam Hoa, and Phu Binh. Furthermore, Sacombank’s Labor Union extended financial assistance to employees affected by the floods, helping them overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives after the disaster.

Prolonged heavy rainfall in early October caused severe flooding across multiple areas in Thai Nguyen and other northern provinces, resulting in property, infrastructure, and agricultural losses worth hundreds of billions of VND. In this context, the spirit of mutual support and solidarity from the business community - particularly from financial institutions - plays a crucial role in helping localities recover swiftly.

A representative from Sacombank’s Thai Nguyen Branch stated: “As a long-standing partner of the local community, Sacombank – Thai Nguyen Branch is committed to making meaningful contributions to help residents rebuild their lives, demonstrating the Bank’s social responsibility and dedication to standing by the community during times of disaster and hardship.”

Over the years, Sacombank has been a pioneer in community-focused initiatives. In 2024, the Bank contributed over VND 13.7 billion to relief and recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Yagi in northern provinces. Sacombank has also actively implemented various social welfare programs such as ‘Warm Spring’ and supported the government’s campaign to ‘Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Housing’ by constructing thousands of homes for disadvantaged households and policy beneficiaries.

The Bank has additionally funded the construction of schools, cultural centers, rural transportation infrastructure, public restrooms, and initiatives to provide electricity, street lighting, clean water, and borewells to underserved areas - reinforcing its strong commitment to social responsibility and community development.
