26/03/2025
Representatives of the Vietnam Youth Federation, Mr. Nguyen Kim Quy (Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Youth Front Department, Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation), and Sacombank, Mr. Nguyen Tan Cuong (Director of the Corporate Banking Division), sign a partnership to enhance digital financial literacy among youth
In collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Federation, the partnership will focus on experiential activities involving digital banking products and services, training in digital finance - particularly the application of AI in financial management - and fostering a deeper understanding of green finance, the circular economy, and sustainable development. Sacombank will also co-organize a series of startup programs, including the “National Youth Startup Forum,” “Startup Consultation Day,” and “Rural Youth Startup Project,” to nurture entrepreneurial spirit and innovation among young people.
Representatives of the Vietnam Student Association, Mr. Ho Hong Nguyen (Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Student Affairs Department, Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union, and Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Vietnam Student Association), and Sacombank, Mr. Tran Thai Binh (Director of the Digital Banking Division), sign a partnership to advance training, enhance financial literacy, and promote volunteerism and active lifestyles among students.
Beyond finance-focused initiatives, Sacombank will also collaborate with the Vietnam Youth Federation on social welfare projects aimed at building a compassionate and inclusive society. Specifically, the bank will support the “Lighting Up the Border” program, which benefits residents and youth in remote, ethnic minority, and underserved areas, as well as the “Happy Homes” program, aligning with the Prime Minister’s directive to eliminate substandard housing and provide meaningful shelter for those in need.
In parallel, Sacombank and the Vietnam Student Association will implement training programs in educational institutions to enhance digital financial literacy and personal financial management skills, while harnessing the power of youth volunteerism. The bank will develop a Digital Finance Information Portal, organize training courses and workshops, and incorporate gamification methods to make learning interactive and engaging. Furthermore, the “Understanding Digital Finance” competition will provide students with a practical platform to explore and adopt modern financial solutions.
Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam (Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth Union and Chairman of the Vietnam Youth Federation) honored Sacombank’s significant contributions to youth-focused programs. He expressed hope that the new partnership will empower young people with access to knowledge, technology, and modern financial tools—preparing them to meet the demands of the new era.
Mr. Dao Nguyen Vu (Deputy CEO and Chairman of Sacombank’s Trade Union) expressed his belief that this partnership will not only equip young people with economic knowledge but also raise awareness of social responsibility and ethical development—fostering good citizens who contribute positively to national progress.
Looking ahead, Sacombank, in collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Federation and Vietnam Student Association, will establish the Healthy Living Fund to support community activities and promote green, healthy lifestyles. For every new Sacombank Visa Platinum O2 credit card, Mastercard Debit EcoGreen card, Sacombank Pay account, or Green Credit loan issued, the bank will contribute between VND 10,000 and VND 50,000 to the fund. Additionally, Sacombank plans to co-host running events to encourage physical activity among youth, contributing VND 1,000 to the fund for every kilometer completed by participants.
With a mission of “Accompanying Development”, Sacombank not only promotes dynamic business growth but also places strong emphasis on empowering younger generations and promoting healthy, positive values. Recognizing youth as the backbone of society, the bank has implemented a variety of practical programs aimed at inspiring personal development and contributing to national progress. A flagship initiative is the “Steps for the Community” program, organized in collaboration with the Vietnam Youth Federation since 2020. This unique initiative combines physical activity with charitable goals, raising funds to build cultural houses for ethnic minority communities. Over 16 rounds, the program has attracted more than 166,000 participants, logged over 16 million kilometers, and raised over VND 16 billion to construct 16 cultural houses - creating enduring, meaningful legacies.
During the event, Sacombank collectives and individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Youth Federation for their contributions to the “Steps for the Community” program. Representing Sacombank, Mr. Nguyen Ba Tri (Deputy CEO and Director of the HCMC Region) and Mr. Dao Nguyen Vu (Deputy CEO and Chairman of the Trade Union) accepted the awards.
Individuals from Sacombank, including Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem (Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the BOD and CEO), Mr. Dao Nguyen Vu, and Mr. Huynh Thien Phu (Director of the Corporate Business Development Center and Member of the Trade Union’s Standing Committee), also received Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Youth Federation for their notable contributions to the same program.
In addition, Sacombank has consistently organized the “Nurturing Dreams” scholarship program to support high-achieving students facing hardship. The bank also provides opportunities for economics students to gain hands-on experience and apply their knowledge, while encouraging employees to innovate, work diligently, and adopt a lifestyle of community responsibility.
The “Green Force – Swift Course” campaign is widely recognized as a highly practical initiative that will enhance knowledge and promote a healthy, positive lifestyle among Vietnam’s youth.
Through these two significant partnership agreements, Sacombank reaffirms its commitment to supporting communities - particularly Vietnamese youth - in finance and comprehensive digital skill development, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. The “Green Force – Swift Course” campaign is expected to generate strong momentum in creating a dynamic and modern society.
