Ride the bus for free and enjoy up to VND 600,000 in additional benefits with SACOMBANK’s dual transit payment cards

Since early July this year, the free bus fare policy has been widely implemented across Ho Chi Minh City, encouraging residents to use public transportation, enhancing convenience, reducing traffic congestion and contributing to environmental protection. The policy is being implemented in two phases, with the second phase starting from 01/10/2026, when passengers will be required to complete identification using their identity card/citizen ID card, VNeID, bank cards, e-wallets, the MultiGo app or other legally recognized electronic methods.

To help passengers become familiar with the identification process while promoting cashless payments, from 01/09 to 30/11/2026, SACOMBANK will offer 200 rewards each month to customers with the highest number of contactless transactions made using SACOMBANK Mastercard MultiPass and SACOMBANK Mastercard Metro Pass on bus routes across the city. The reward is a VND 100,000 discount voucher for purchasing train or bus tickets on the SACOMBANK PAY app.

For customers using the Metro, the promotional program will run until the end of September 2026. Specifically, 200 customers with the highest total contactless transaction value each month at automated payment gates using the aforementioned dual transit payment cards, who also achieve a minimum total transaction value of VND 200,000, will receive VND 100,000 cashback credited to their payment account.

Each customer is eligible to receive each type of reward once per month at most and may enjoy both types of rewards simultaneously if all stated conditions are met. The promotional program not only delivers practical benefits to customers but also supports the city’s initiatives to develop green transportation and smart cities, while promoting digital transformation in the payment sector in Vietnam.
