SACOMBANK continues to expand VIETQRGlobal cross-border payment – now connected with South Korea

In this latest connection, the service is initially being rolled out in the “Vietnam inbound” direction. Korean tourists visiting Vietnam can now use the Purple GLN payment app to scan VIETQRGlobal codes, view the real-time exchange rate directly on their phone screen, and make payments at a wide network of acceptance points across the country.

From shopping malls and retail centers to restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions, Korean visitors can enjoy convenient, cashless payments without the need to carry physical money or exchange currency. Merchants receive funds instantly in their accounts upon successful transactions. A representative from SACOMBANK stated: “We have successfully implemented two-way VIETQRGlobal payment connectivity with Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia. Following our development roadmap, in 2026 SACOMBANK and NAPAS will complete the ‘Vietnam outbound’ connection with both China and South Korea. This will allow SACOMBANK NAPAS cardholders to link their cards to the SACOMBANK PAY app and scan QR codes to make payments at participating merchants in these two countries. We are also actively exploring further expansion into other promising markets such as Singapore and India.”
