SACOMBANK Expands VIETQRGlobal Network with Cross-border QR Payment Connectivity to Singapore
13/07/2026
Under the new arrangement, Singaporean visitors to Vietnam can use LiquidPay, Aleta Planet, DCS DeCard, and Starryblu payment applications to scan VIETQRGlobal QR codes at participating merchants nationwide. Exchange rates are displayed directly within the payment application before transaction confirmation, enabling customers to make convenient payments at shopping malls, retail stores, restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions, and various other service providers without carrying cash or exchanging foreign currency.
The expansion to Singapore not only provides international visitors with an additional payment option but also enables Vietnamese merchants to better serve travelers from one of Asia's leading financial, commercial, and tourism hubs. At the same time, the solution enhances the digital payment experience and further promotes cashless payments across the tourism and service sectors.
To date, SACOMBANK has successfully established two-way QR payment connectivity with Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, while also enabling inbound QR payments for visitors from China, South Korea, and Singapore. These developments allow international visitors to make QR payments seamlessly in Vietnam and represent another milestone in expanding the VIETQRGlobal ecosystem across Southeast Asia and East Asia.
During 2026, SACOMBANK will continue working with NAPAS to introduce outbound QR payment connectivity with China, South Korea, and Singapore. Once implemented, SACOMBANK NAPAS cardholders will be able to link their cards to the SACOMBANK PAY application and conveniently scan QR codes at participating merchants in these countries without the need to exchange foreign currency or carry cash. In parallel, the Bank is exploring opportunities to further expand the VIETQRGlobal network to additional high-potential markets, including India and Japan, as part of its ongoing efforts to build a comprehensive cross-border payment ecosystem that meets the growing needs of customers amid the rapid development of trade, tourism, and the digital economy.
