SACOMBANK Issues VND 20 Trillion in Bonds to Prepare for the Next Phase of Growth

26/06/2026

Saigon Treasure Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SACOMBANK, HOSE: STB) has approved a plan to issue an additional VND 20 trillion in private bonds. This marks the Bank’s second bond issuance following its earlier approval of a VND 20 trillion private placement announced in mid-June 2026.

According to SACOMBANK’s Board of Directors’ Resolution, the issuance aims to strengthen the Bank’s Tier 2 capital, reinforce its capital adequacy ratio in compliance with the State Bank of Vietnam’s regulations, and enhance its lending capacity amid the country’s improving economic outlook.

Earlier this year, SACOMBANK drew market attention when its Q1 2026 financial results highlighted a strategic focus on improving asset quality rather than pursuing short-term earnings growth. The bond issuance represents a natural continuation of this prudent approach, strengthening the Bank’s capital buffer, enhancing its resilience against risks, and reflecting its disciplined and responsible risk management strategy.

According to a SACOMBANK representative, the bonds will be issued through private placements in multiple tranches to institutional professional securities investors. The actual issuance amount for each tranche will be determined based on the Bank’s funding requirements, prevailing market conditions, and investor demand at the time of issuance.

As one of Vietnam’s leading joint stock commercial banks, SACOMBANK continues to strengthen its financial foundation to better meet regulatory requirements for risk management while supporting sustainable credit growth. The additional capital will also reinforce the Bank’s long-term commitment to operational efficiency and sustainable growth, in line with the strategic objectives set at the beginning of the year.
