Sacombank awarded more than 3,000 scholarships to students

On the occasion of the school opening of the 2018-2019, Sacombank awarded 3,051 Sacombank scholarships to incubate dreams with a total value of nearly VND 3.9 billion for pupils and students with difficult circumstances who achieve good academic achievements. Each scholarship is worth from 1 to 20 million dong and a backpack. The scholarship program is applied nationwide and for students who are studying in provinces with Sacombank branches operating (except HCMC and Hanoi).

Subjects considered by Sacombank to award scholarships are students of grade 11 and 12 in the school year 2018 - 2019, with difficult circumstances, average score of the last school year from 7.0 or higher; and third-year students of the 2016-2020 academic year who studying full-time course in the universities in the fields of Economics, Business Administration, Finance - Banking, Accounting, under difficult circumstances, with an average score of 7.5 or higher (on a 10-point scale) or 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale). As for the College system, the students receiving the scholarship are second year students of the 2017-2020 school years and are studying at the College of Industry and Trade and Thu Duc College of Technology.

In particular, this year, Sacombank awarded full scholarships (worth VND 20 million / slot) to students who overcome difficulties and having good performance at the University of Economics, Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Open University and University of Finance - Marketing. In addition to meeting the requirements in terms of academic studying quality, students are also required to write and present final round about the financial sector in general and Sacombank's operations in particular.

Awarding scholarships is an annual social activity organized by Sacombank since 2004 in order to empower pupils and students on the path to pursuing their dreams. Over 15 years of organization, the Bank has awarded more than 34,000 scholarships with a total budget of nearly VND40 billion. At the same time, Sacombank has organized many activities for the community such as the Spring Warmth Program to bring Tet to difficult circumstances, children and the elderly in shelters across the country; organizing the "Run with Sacombank for community health" cross-country to encourage physical training spirit or the Humanitarian Blood Donation program to contribute to solving the blood shortage situation. In the near future, the Bank will continue to implement the 2019 Potential Internship program to facilitate the final-year students in economic sector to experience a professional, well-trained and developed working environment.
