Sacombank opened the online marathon/jogging for the development of the community

Quang Binh, June 28, 2020: Sacombank accompanies the Vietnam Youth Union to launch the online marathon/jogging Program "Steps for the Community" to raise funds for building a Community Cultural House for ethnic minorities. The program was attended by Politburo member, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh and Member of Central Party Committee, Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee Secretary - Hoang Dang Quang. "Steps for the community" takes place on a national scale from June 28 to July 26, 2020, not limited to participants and no distance limitation registration. For every running kilometer, Sacombank will contribute VND1,000 to the fund.

The official registration portal is open at 00:00 on June 28, 2020 and closes at 23:59 on July 26, 2020 at website www.sacombankrunnersclub.com. The program will start recording the number of kilometers from 00:00 on July 4, 2020 to 23:59 on July 26, 2020. Athletes can walk or jog, only need the average speed to reach from 4 minutes/1 km to 20 minutes/1 km.

Within the framework of the ground-breaking ceremony, Mr. Dao Nguyen Vu - Deputy CEO of Sacombank represented
the gift from Sacombank valued at VND 63 million to 140 ethnic households of “Chứt” ethnic group living in Dan Hoa ward.

Ms. Nguyen Duc Thach Diem - Member of the Board of Directors cum CEO of Sacombank granted gifts to the “Chứt” ethnic minority households who live in difficulties in Dan Hoa ward.

Each participant will receive an electronic medal and certificate in his personal account at the program website. In addition, the athlete will accumulate the number of running kilometers (particularly on Sundays, the number of kilometers will be doubled) and receive attractive gifts. Specifically, 200 athletes (100 male athletes and 100 female athletes) with the highest number of cumulative kilometers (reaching at least 200 km including double scores bonus days) will receive: 01 Merit from the Central Vietnam Youth Union, 01 metal medal and 01 "Steps for the Community" uniquely designed T-shirt. Gifts will be sent to the athletes after the program ends at the registered address at the website.

On the same day, Sacombank awarded a mockup worth VND 4 billion to accompany the Vietnam Youth Union to build a Cultural House for the “Chứt” ethnic group in Quang Binh province. The construction cost is estimated at VND1 billion. It is expected that the Bank will continue to coordinate with Vietnam Youth Union to build another 15 cultural houses across the country with a total budget of VND16 billion.

Building a community cultural house for ethnic minorities is a practical activity, playing an important role in preserving and developing the traditions of ethnic groups. This is a place for people to come to experience cultural activities, interact to each other, do physical training to improve their spiritual life and strengthen their solidarity. Since then, increasing cohesion and inherit tradition values to many generations. Community cultural houses are also a means for people to spread positive lifestyles, understanding the economic, social and legal issues through regular cultural events and at the same time is also a value tool to collect, store, research and promote national cultural heritages, in association with the socio-economic development goals for localities where ethnic minorities live.
