Sacombank achieved the PCI DSS certification for the 8th consecutive year certified in card security

PCI DSS is the highest Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard established by PCI Security Standards Council including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, Mastercard and Visa Inc. The consecutive achievement of this certificate indicates continuous efforts in improving and upgrading information technology infrastructure to ensure the compliance and strictly following card security principles.
In addition to the efforts in protecting customers’ card information, Sacombank has provided many products and services which help customers use cards safely, especially when pay online.
In the end of 2020, Sacombank is one of the first banks to cooperate with international card issuers - Visa and MasterCard to upgrade the 3D-Secure multi-level security system version 1.0 to version 2.0 according to EMV standard for these card types at the Bank. The system upgrade aims to increase the safety of online card transactions, speed up the transaction process, and help customers to easily experience more modern banking services.
In May 2021 Sacpmbank and Mastercard have co-ordinately introduced the new Purchase Protection and ATM Protection insurances for Sacombank Mastercard debit cards. In advance, Sacombank Mastercard debit cards have had 2 free insurances including ID Theft Protection – Alert and E-commerce Protection. With the 4 insurances above, cardholders’ personal information and transactions will be all protected all.
Especially, up to now Sacombank has been the first bank in Vietnam to partner with Visa and Mastercard to deploy Tap To Phone technology that accepts contactless payments by mobile phone for the first time in Vietnam and Rapid Seller Onboarding.
In particular, Sacombank also expanded the 2019 PCI DSS certification category for Sacombank Pay's financial management application to help customers feel secure when trading and storing payment information on the application. With these solutions, Sacombank provided a full package for merchants who need to use high security card acceptance service, which brings more Vietnamese businesses into the digital economy. In details, after register on https://card.sacombank.com.vn to become Sacombank card merchants successfully, businesses can download mMerchant app from Apple Store/Google Play to use their mobile phones as a point-of-sale terminal for contactless payments (Tap To Phone). Tap to Phone is now used only in near-field communication (NFC)-enabled Android mobile devices, but it will be expanded to iOS devices in the future.
Moreover, Sacombank also expanded the 2019 PCI DSS certification category for Sacombank Pay's financial management application to help customers feel secure when trading and storing payment information on the application.
